Who We Are:

It's me Shelly! I am a dancer from Southern Oregon ~ yep just a little town with a small dance community. So what happened?

I had been taking dance classes for about 6 months. After that point I realized that in my area, growing in Latin dance is not easy. I went to a festival or two. Then the dance studio closed. There was about a year with barely any dancing, and I was dying (#iykyk). I started thinking about going to another town.
The closest town to me with multiple classes a week, (which is what I wanted if I was going to travel), is about 5 hours from me. I was fully prepared: Vacation time, class schedule in hand, and ready to take private lessons. I seriously wanted to improve.

I started looking for hotels. And it struck me.

If I am going to book a hotel for a week, why don't I go somewhere I can really enjoy my time, lay by a pool, sightsee.

After a TON of research, I ended up in Mexico City. I had only been to Mexico one time before, to San Miguel de Allende (which I loved), so this was a big stretch for me. And I planned to go solo. I was on a mission after all.
Fortunately I mentioned my plans to my dance-partner-in-crime and she came with me (yujuu!) The rest is history.

From the first trip a year ago, I said I wanted to bring people there. To share with them what I had experienced. I absolutely fell in love. The dancing, yes. But also the city, the food, the culture, the history - ALL of it, is amazing. And I'm finally bringing my little dream to fruition.

Side Note: It seems unimportant but you may want to know, professionally I am an event planner. I hold two large events a year in Oregon. And I am also a former banker, specializing in Operations Management. Which has nothing to do with dancing, but I'm good at details, planning , and admin :)

Emmanuel Flores

Meet Emmanuel! He is a dancer also, and oddly we started our dance journeys right around the same time. He is a true Salsero but also loves Bachata, Salsa on 2, and can dance Cumbia, and more. He is a Mexico native living in Mexico City, and graduated with a license in tourism. He knows all things Mexico and CDMX - think hot spots, where to go (and where NOT to go), the skinny on socials, cool sights, and must-see places! AND he can speak Spanish. Super helpful :) He loves dancing as much as I do. More so, his love and passion for his country and the joy he gets from sharing the history and culture, is unmatched.
